Run your VCR input cable from your VCR to the back of the IIGS
and use the IIGS composite out to see if anything comes up on
your TV.  It may not be the monitor's problem.  There is a virus
on the IIGS that changes the color of the text, the border, and
the backgroud all to black.  This makes the IIGS seem to be
dead.
