This fits well with the other thread on a new mother board
idea. There is still the ROM problems. Perhaps the system
could be designed where the startup rom code would load a rom
image of the GS from a disk media. This would prevent any
legal hassles for whoever builds this design. Barring this, one
other option would be a system setup disk which could load the
rom image to a flash rom so it only needs to be done once.
