No. AE made several disk drives, and if your drive does not specifically
say "AEHD" on the front, it is not a HD drive.
The AEHD needs a driver; without it it can only use 800K floppies.
When you say "can't read any floppies" do you mean you can't read HD
floppies, or, you can't read any floppies at all - not even the ones
that were formatted using the Apple 3.5 drive?
