Re: question on Standards for files

Well Jeff I am sure this is helpful, but none of these will work for me:

>
>- Null modem the files
>- Boot BeOS and write the files to either my SCSI Jaz drive or my SCSI
>EZ135 drive formatted in HFS format then move the drive to the IIgs
>and copy the files off.

- I have no SCSI connect on my // next:

>- Write the files to an MS-DOS formatted floppy, take that disk to my
>Mac IIsi, copy the files from that floppy to an 800k HFS floppy and
>take the HFS floppy to my IIgs.
As I said: I am a PC guy, not MAC next:

> copy them to the IIgs using MUG!.

I am not quite sure what MUG! is, A utility of some kind I assume. next:

>Why change standards after almost two decades? There is nothing wrong
>with the current standards so we might as well stick with it.
>Besides, this would be extremely wasteful and inefficient.

Jeff Speaking as a new (re)convert to the II world who through LOTS of effort
finally got ADT to work, and it seems the easiest means I have so far found
for transfer, and as I have yet to get ANY of the other things to work
consistently, that is why my suggestion.
Null modem is so far my ONLY option and NONE of the // dial up packages seem
to work (I cannot find a zmodem protocol, and none of the kermit/xmodem ones
work).
I am just tryin to figgure this thingy out.........
