I don't have a GV 33.6, but since I've worked with a lot of Global Village
modems, I figured I'd add this just in case...
Some newer global village modems won't work if they are the type that are
marketed as 'Power Mac/AV Mac only' because of the whole GeoPort thing,
they have an extra pin which the GS doesn't. I think the plug wouldn't
actually fit into the serial port anyway, I believe they added a lip to it
to prevent people from trying to jam it in...
Do ADB-powered GV modems work alright on GSes? I've never tried running
one without it's accompanying software, and I recall several people making
statements that GV modems were (particularly bad in this context when they
told me, also why they were not made for PCs) doing a lot of the 'work'
using the mac's processor, rather than their own hardware...compression, I
guess?
