    False. The Apple 3.5 (the platinum drive designed for the IIgs;
as well as Macintosh II, SE, Plus and 512e) works fine on the Apple 
IIc Plus. There was additional circuity added to the IIc Plus board
as well as an accelerated CPU to support non-intelligent 3.5 drives.

    You are correct about the Apple IIc (ROM 0, 3 and 4) though, as
it required the intelligent UniDisk 3.5. The original IIc (ROM 255)
won't work with any type of 3.5 drive unless you upgrade the ROM.
