I will releasing a Win32 (WinNT/Win9x) utility that will allow your PC to let 
your GS have a direct terminal based connection to the internet by connecting 
directly to the GS serial port. 

Basically, the PC acts as a dummy terminal server, and provides telnet and 
command shell functionality to the GS (or IIe) by placing a null modem cable 
between the PC and the GS. 

The command shell is similar to MS-DOS, with flexibility to set up "alias" 
commands. The command shell will allow you to manage files (copy, delete etc) 
on a predetermined "server" share on the PC. 

Unfortunately, the absolute limit of xfer speed is the effective speed of the 
GS serial port. Still, a 56k connection to a file repository on a PC, with 
telnet support it rather enticing. Imagine using LYNX or xfering a file to your 
IIgs at 56k. I have been using it for over a month now, and it is great. If you 
have a persistent connection to the internet it is even better!

And you don't need to use marinetti or a modem!

And BTW - I had a copy of kareteka when I was a kid too. So I won't hold it 
against ya....
