Actually, Sam has a point.  For those of us who've recently stumbled in here, 
it's hard to say who is lying, isn't it?

There's no reason for this unnamed person to not post confirmation.  If the 
story Joe says is true, then this fellow is blameless; he did (IMHO) nothing at 
all wrong.  He assumed Joe had a grudge against Tom and did Tom a favour.  Why 
should he be ashamed?

On the other hand, if this is false, well, then, obviously, nobody will come 
forward.

I'm with Sam.  Let's see some actual evidence, eh?
