Piracy

If you want to know the truth about Charles (Dr Tom) Turley, read on. Due 
to the fact, however, that legal procedings are under consideration, I
cannot go into a whole lot of detail, but...

Within one week of Brutal Deluxe's LemminGS being released, Charles (Dr
Tom) Turley sent an obscenity-filled venomous e-mail to Brutal Deluxe in
which he "declared war" on both Brutal Deluxe and Shareware Solutions II.

Less than a week later, he sent Brutal Deluxe a threatening e-mail in
which he said that LemminGS would become freely available. His exact words
were: "FREE is really going to be FREE now - for everybody, in every
respect!"

On February 2, 1997, Charles Turley followed through on his threat, and
uploaded both LemminGS and the source code for Convert 3200 to the ftp
server run by the Adidam religious organization.

On February 2nd, a short text file appeared on Asimov, telling folks where
they could download LemminGS and the Convert 3200 source code.

On February 5th, the sysadmin of Adidam contacted the wco.com sysadmin to
tell him of the unauthorized upload by cturley@wco.com of LemminGS. When
asked for further details and proof of the claim, the Adidam sysadmin
provided to wco.com a detailed 500+k log file that proved that it was 
cturley@wco.com who uploaded LemminGS and the Convert 3200 source code.

On February 10th, wco.com terminated the account of cturley@wco.com for
using wco.com to pirate copyrighted software.
