Dunno. They don't help ME much, if any at all. 'Course, the fact
that I usually know MORE than Tech Support might help some ... <B-)

Just about as much as Windows 3.1 Tech Support helps me ... I've
quite often had to read from the Tech Ref books BACK to Tech Support, and
ask them why the discrepency ... <B-(
Back when the //e was still big at Apple, I also had trouble with
tech support. Nowadays, most anything you could have gotten from Tech
Support back in the late 80's was mostly in the Tech Notes. And, since
the Tech Notes are available via the FTP sites ...

So? Microsoft won't support 386's on Windows NT 4.x. Won't
support 486's from 4.5 and up.
Is THIS the example you want to make? 386's were actively new
MUCH more recently than the //gs was.

Nope. Altho, Microsoft would not have become the powerhouse it IS
today, IMAO.

Not likely. But, then again, who knows?

The same way they would today - swap everything. Don't argue too
much, I STILL have my diplomas from Apple Level 1.5 Training back in '82

Let me add - Apple Trained Service Tech, back in the early 80's.
RwP
Note: Please trim this off. This is to get the reply past the news
server I'm using, since it insists on not letting me post if I don't type
MORE than what I'm replying to. SOOO .... Sometimes I havbe to type a
long, rambling paragraph to convince the news server that it's
worthwhile. Now, isn't this a TOTAL waste of bandwidth, or what? Like I
said, some computers are TOO stupid to be trusted in the real world ...
