$500 is too much for an "internet box" and, probably, too little for
the features II users (and new Apple II home user buyers) will demand. If
Apple starts blowing capital on a series of pisssant projects, it can
forget about II user support; and, perhaps earlier than expected, the
world can forget about Apple.

Remember the closing scene in Fall of the Roman Empire? Well, smoke is
coming from the towers on Mt. Cupertino, vultures are circling, confusion
reigns, and the barbarian PC gruds are at the gates. This is no time for
Apple's new Consumate Enlightened One to fiddle around with half measures.
