Splendid!  I have now moved my hard drive (it's an IDE, not a SCSI,
but the same idea as above) and am using ProTerm and have printed.  I
do not have a Mac to test to really see if the AppleTalk is working,
but it seems OK.  On last question - when I turn AppleTalk off (in the
control panels) I get two errors as I boot (doh!, I didn't write them
down).  Is there another way of turning it off so that I do not get
these errors?  

Thanks every one who has offered advice.  The GS community is
certainly a very supportive one!
