The IIgs was the last new Apple // offspring (okay, the //c+ was the last 
'new' Apple // model) but Apple has stopped all Apple // production.

Quality Computers has bought the rights to AppleWorks and has just released
version 5.0.  ProTerm is still available also.

There is still a number of people writing shareware/freeware for
the Apple // family.

There is a limited amount of add-in hardware being produced since Apple 
"dropped" the // family several years ago.
