How do I hook up a SCSI HD?

Ok here's my dilema:

I have a ][e with the following:
	serial printer card (Grappler?)
	clock
	serial card for my modem
1MB 80 column card (in the aux slot)
5 1/4" drive controller card in slot 5
a dead (I believe but not sure) slot 6
an empty slot 7 (and 4)

I hopefully will be aquiring a Rev. C SCSI card, and a hard drive to match.
The controller card is used, so doc's probably won't be available. What
I need to know is how to install the hard drive on my ][e. ie: Is slot 7
ok for the controller? (will it boot from there, or does it have to be a
lower slot # then the floppy drive?) I've heard that I'll need
partitioning software for any hard drive bigger then 32MB, could someone
post it to the binaries news group (along with doc's)? What version of
ProDOS do I need to handle the hard drive? 2.x?

Ack! I really am not too sure what I'm doing, so if it is too basic
to waste bandwidth, email will do. They are pretty generous around here,
my mail box should be able to take it :-)

Thanks
