In that case, the answer is you can't. These lights, and the
corresponding key labels require special software support. I suppose
that Apple wanted the labelling there in case the keyboard was to be
used with some kind of PC emulation software.

No, it looks like I was a bit hasty in my attempt to keep things in
the "right" group. :-) We're back in csa2 now.
