One by one...

Commodore 64/128 are 8 bits machines. Commodore creates a new machine called
Amiga to replace this series. OK fine. If Apple just wanted Mac to replace the
Apple II (8 bit), I have nothing to complain about. No. They have to create
this wonder Apple IIGS, then abandon it.

Not sure about VIC-20.

IBM XT/AT/PCjr is not a good example. Basically users of all those machines
upgraded to newer, faster machines, with little loss of compatibility. Do we
have the GS+? Why Apple has to come out with Apple IIGS, let us love it, and
decided that we will have to downgrade to Mac?

I found the way Apple treats us rather disgusting. We are all loyal to our
machines, love our machines, and keep telling Apple that we want Apple II to
stay alive. We said we want speed, better graphics and sound, and it all can
be done. No, after all these years and the rather empty promise of John
Sculley, all we have is ROM 3, which is basically the same machine.

There are a lot of other ways that Apple can do, like spin off a Apple II
department, sell away the right of II and let those interested to keep it
alive, let us have a better machine which is more compatible with the Mac and
perhaps finally come out with a machine which is both GS and Mac compatible,
etc. No. What they decided is, or rather what I think they think: Apple is
not interested in us anymore, unless we all go to Mac.

That's why I am not interested in this company anymore. History normally
repeats itself. BTW, I remember one guy in Apple once said "We will never
screw (yes, that's the word) Mac user the way we did to Apple II user". OK,
once is enough. I love my machine. I love my Apple IIGS. But I don't love
Apple anymore. If you like Mac, go and get it. But for me, no. Not another
machine from Apple. Never.
