GSHK and SYS. 6.x.x

Hello all!  I was wondering if anybody could give me a hand...

I ftp'd the ShrinkIt GS from CCO and decompressed it, but it doesn't want to
work with my System 5.0.4 or 5.0.2.  All I get is the GSHK main screen, but I
can't pull down the menus (this is with 5.0.4 -- it doesn't even load with
5.0.2)

I have a Rom 01 with a paltry one meg, one 3.5" and, one 5.25", an Imagewriter
II, and a Colour Composite Monitor (no smirking -- it works great with my VCR
too  ;)  I would like to get 6.x.x (what is it?  6.0.1?) up and going, but I
guess with 5 disks, I would probably run a crippled version or something.  I
would like to get ShrinkIt GS going, so I can reliably get some of the things
out of the archives.

So, what I'm interested in is:
1) does the (supposedly newest) ShrinkIt GS work with versions other than   
6.x.x?    (i.e.  did I just get a bad download?)
2) would anybody be willing to do a disk-mail-a-thon with me so I could get set
   up with the newest system?

Any help with this problem would be greatly appreciated!
