Um, you're thinking of the PowerPC chip, not the PowerBook. The PowerBook
is here, and most of 'em use the 68030. All macs can run ms-dog, albeit
slowly and with some compatibility problems, via SoftPC.

The low-end PowerPC chip, according to Motorola, outperforms the pentium.
of course, this is not real-world performance, just Motorolas own benchmarks.
We won't *really* know how speedy it is until people start to use it. I've
got the ad around here somewhere ["And you thought the Pentium was fast."]
I'll reprint it if requested.

I suspect I will; I know the Centris 610 has an upgrade path to a PowerPC
platform.. I'm seriously considering it, IF I can find the cash. But FIRST
an 40mhz 030 for my Mac Classic, then a RAM card for my //e.. then...
