Just for your information, the latest version of the Macintosh system
software (7.1) runs perfectly well, if slowly, on a Macintosh Plus
with sufficient memory. In addition, because Apple has generally
discouraged developers from using the Macintosh hardware directly,
it's not _that_ difficult to maintain compatibility with older machines,
as long as you're polite and talk to the operating system.

Finally, considering that the IIci, SE/30, and all older Macintosh models
comprise a significant percentage of Apple's installed base, it's pretty
ludicrous to assume that developers are just going to ignore them. By
your logic, the Apple II should have been dead and cold long, long ago.
