Thanks for the advice. I'll probably break out a few tools and swap
out the motherboards here in a week or two. If I run into any problems
or need advice you can bet I'll be asking. I'll probably hang onto the
ROM 1 board, as a backup in case I have trouble down the road with the
ROM 3, rather than put it in the IIe.

My original plan for changing out the motherboard in the IIe for a ROM
1 GS was to be able to play games like Silvern Castle, Destination
Mars!, and a couple others, that are only on 3.5 disks. It seemed
easier to get a ROM 1 motherboard than trying to find the 3.5 drive
card, and Superdrive, for the IIe.

After getting a GS again I'm remembering the fun that some of the
games for the GS can be. I still prefer the older games but having the
ability to play both is nice.
