Are you referring to the foam rubber strip under the front of the keys?
I've noticed that mine is crumbling away, although it doesn't really
affect playability...

It's dead simple, tbh. Anyone who should be mucking around in it, should be able to figure it out!

The foam strip on mine has turned into goo, basically. I'm also considering modifying an aftertouch strip to perform the functions of one of the switches :D

This is 61-key - I don't know what the smaller keyboard is like.

I believe only the 61-key was velocity-sensing (SPDT key contacts).
