CiderPress isn't written to read MS-DOS (FAT) or HFS disks.
It only can read a ProDOS 1440K of 1.4 MB disk. I do it all
day and half of the night. This is how I get most of my
files to the GS. Need a superdrive controller and drive on
the GS to do it, too. And, now through the wonders of two
programs, thanks to Andy McFadden, I can even write to a
CF card or hard drive. What I do is partition the CF card
or hard drive with my MicroDrive card, format it, then take
a 32MB image file, and write it to the appropriate sectors
of the drive with HexWorkShop. Saves me time and lots of
disk swapping. :o) Thanks Andy.
