'Better' is a very relative thing. I'm pretty sure the whole desktop
publishing thing would never have happened if the IIgs was Apple's only
offering. On the other hand, you couldn't very well make any money
programming games for the compact Mac's.
Seems to me the IIgs (and IIe) were sold until well after they had
reached obsolescence (by most practical standards), so it might be a bit
unfair to accuse Apple of murdering it's own children.
