:
: The drive is terminated with a DIP-switch bank on the back of
the
: housing. I opened the unit, but could find nothing that might
have
: been trying to provide additional termination. I don't have a
: separate "plug-in" terminator for this drive.
When you say DIP-switch bank, is that the ID setting?

:
: I meant, but forgot, to mention in my previous posts that this
is a
: stock, "new" out-of-the box card, so it's unlikely that the mod
has
: been made. I will check, though, when I get home tonight. If
the
: diode-mod hasn't been done, wouldn't that affect the Zip drive
: functionality as well?
No, that mod supplies the termination power
to the chain. Just turn off the term power
switch on the Zip drive. Also try making the
CD drive ID 6, and the ZIP drive ID 5. The SCSI
card is set at ID 7 with all switches set to open.

:
: re: "Also, you were asked about the Tulin drivers..." I
apparently
: don't have the Tulin drivers - as I stated before, the only
ones I
: have installed are the "NEC" ones that I found in the Sirius
utilities
: folder. I also installed the ones from the System disks, as
you
: suggested. I'll stop by Syndicomm's site after I post this.
They could very well be the drivers you need.
What are the names of the files that are being
installed.
: re: "I have the Sirius Diag disk..." I'll send you an email
: shortly...
Ok, I have the file and will send momentarily.
: re: "Mike, I will try to impress this once more..." See above.
Ok, got it.

:
: There's a local custom-cable house near here, but they're not
cheap
: (they wanted $40+ to do a null-modem cable). I have a few
other local
: resources I can check out - I'll let you know.
That is totally ridiculous. I make the IIc to PC
null-modem cables for $10. Besides, for the IIgs,
you get a 8 mini-din to DB25 male and buy a null-modem
adapter. That's all I do.
