Thanks Alex, as an aside, I love your website, learned quite a few things
about the iigs from your site.
Thanks, glad you've got something out of it.
right now, im null modem connection with windows vista (pc). Ive run
Ciderpress on PC, but I do not see a command or icon for transferring to
apple (I didn't know that could be done with CP, I have always used Adtpro),
which icon is it from the menu?
My IIgs set up is as follows:
Rom 3 IIgs running system 6.0.1
scsi hd
3.5 drive
5.25 drive
I have installed Dos 3.3 FST to sys6.0.1, and when I put in a 5.25 floppy
(ie: Magic Window //e), sys6.0.1 creates a icon on the desktop. I can open
it and view the contents but when I using 'dos 3.3 copier' it gives me a
error $27 (s6,d1 to Hd volume). I have also tried copy2+ copying from
s6,d1 to hd volume but it gives me error.
Reading your instructions, i can just put the disk image (.dsk, 2mg) from pc
to apple hd using ciderpress or hyperterminal/preterm, then once i have that
on my apple hd, i can just launch that image with dos3.3 launcher?
thanks for help again.
Aha! So, you're actually dealing with a real 5.25" disk.
So, are you getting the error $27 when you try to use the 'Copy DOS 3.3
Disk(s)...' option? This option would create a disk image and store it
on your IIGS's SCSI HD. You can then set launch options for a whole
disk image, but I've had limited success with it running from DOS 3.3
Launcher this way, but I think it largely depends on the program you're
trying to run.
If Magic Window is a single DOS 3.3 executable file, then you simply
need to copy that file using the IIGS Finder, from its original disk
onto your SCSI hard drive. Then using DOS 3.3 Copier to set launch
options for that specifc file. Returning to the IIGS Finder, double
click on it and hopefilly DOS 3.3 Launcher will run Magic Window.
