Re: TransWarp GS repair questions
Hey again guys,
First of all, Clay, thank you for pointing me to Mouser. They have an
excellent selection. Second of all, I figured since there is no one
out there doing Transwarp GS repairs, we should try to get some sort
of system in place. I have contacted my sources in China to see about
gettting a small supply of the FPGA used on the Transwarp. Since that
is the only unusual component, the rest should be no problem to
acquire. It just seems like these things are rare enough as it is
without taking malfunctioning units out of circulation. Whereas with
the ZipGSX the gate array is a real stopping point (although I MAY be
able to get some, god knows I've acquired more unusual ASICs from my
ewaste recycling contacts) the off the shelf nature of the Transwarp
means there's no excuse to let a 'dead' unit sit and collect dust. I'm
not looking to make a professional enterprise out of it, it just seems
logical that there be someone with a stock of relevant components on
hand and the ability to swap them out. Just out of curiousity, how
many nonfunctional transwarps do you guys think there are out there?
