It's a known problem, OS X doesn't support classic Mac floppy drives,
nor a bunch of other hardware inside the Beige G3 desktop and the
Powerbook G3 "Wall Street" (or earlier); the only solution is not
running OS X on those Old World ROM machines. They weren't really
designed for it anyways.
