You might be right about the cable.  It was supplied
to me by APC on their  UPS system I got from them.
I didn't need it at the time since it wasn't to hooked up a
Mac but I thought it might work on the IIgs. It
does work but it doesn't seem to support hardware
handshaking.  I finally found that using Xon/Xoff that
I can get it to download using Ymodem.  The confusing
thing was which Ymodem protocol to use on both
ends.  On the PC end, I use standard Ymodem and on
the Z-link end, I used Ymodem-Batch.
