Re: Frustration with Beaglewrite
No patch that I'm aware of. It's probably a good thing that it has the limit.
BeagleWrite with a two or three fonts is okay, but with more, as longer
documents have a habit of containing, it has to add them to memory constantly.
I phoned the outfit that handled BeagleWrite after Beagle Bros disappeared.
The tech only had a little hands-on experience and a manual to help me, so we
didn't get anywhere. I wanted to get BeagleWrite to recognize it's dictionary
while both were on the hard drive.
I finally did get it to work, but not through the manual or the tech support.
I renamed one of the hard drive partitions "BeagleWrite" and the program
thought that it was on a 3.5" disk. Mind you, the spell checker in BeagleWrite
is so bad (because they copied the Macintosh system so well) that I've used it
less than ten time in 4 or 5 years.
The program is great and I even talked my principal into buying a site license
for it. Now, of course, it's freeware.
