I think cheating the reseller does not directly effect the copyrightholder.
But no you are rationalizing again. If used games were selling well, and the
market was increasing, then it is at least possble that producers might decide
to reissue Apple 2 software. But just downloading and stealing it will never
make anyone try to resurrect the Apple 2 line.
Resellers are keeping the Apple 2 alive and do serve a good purpose. They are
the present distribution system for software. If new sources of new software
came online these would be the people chosen to distribute the software (not
asimov). Actually new software is comiong online, at a trickle, not a stream,
and it does go to Joe Kohn and others to sell.
I think used software does compete with Joe a bit for the Apple 2 dollar but a
vibrant used software market on ebay, yahoo and elsewhere is also a sign that
the Apple 2 is not dead. This is a good thing.
