Re: Q: How to adjust "Apple 5.25 Drive" speed?
Scott,

I would consider the DouDisk cable to be a bit rare. Often the cables are
disconnected by op-shops when they get a whole lot of old Apples from
schools for sale. The cables are normally disconnected at both ends and
chucked in in a pile of mixed cables. An unwary (read ignorant) buyer might
pick up the wrong cable with their PC/Apple or Toaster purchase find it
doesn't fit their application and then toss it out. Replacing these cables
is extremely difficult since the DB19 connecter is almost un-obtainable, as
I have found is the case in Australia. In fact it took me a year to find a
source of these connectors and that is in USA. By the time I buy one and
ship it here and make the cable, I would be looking at a good $10-$15US. Not
worth it IMHO. Cheaper to just use two Apple 5.25 Drives.
Another issue with the DuoDisk is that some older ones below a certain
serial number have software or hardware compatability issues which escape me
at present. This problem was fixed with the Apple 5.25 Drive.
