Yeah, space is an issue for me as well, and I'm an avid collector of vintage
computer equipment.  I live in a one bedroom apartment, that isn't very big
but one way that I found to create space was to build a nice, full wall
wooden shelf unit that is four shelves high. Each shelf tier unit is able to
hold one system -so four systems high, all the way down the wall. In the
middle of this shelf unit sits the 27 inch TV, with the VCR and digital
cable box on the shelf under it. The overall effect is very cool. People
walk in and say, "Wow!" Then, I have a main computer desk, for my Pentium,
and on either side of that sit (on the right) my apple IIe linked to my PC
com port, and (on the left) an AT&T 6300 connected to the parallel port
using FastLink. Squeezed in between the AT&T and my PC sits a small Morrow
MD-3 CP/M box that is connected to the other com port for use with
HyperTerminal.

My little living room is like command central, and it looks fantastic.
There's always plenty of fun things for my friends to play with, and talk
about when they come over. It sounds crowed but it really isn't. The floor
is clear of computer debris, so there is plenty of room to fit normal living
room furniture, and you can still walk around.

Of course, closet space is an issue because, along with the computers, I
have tons of software and manuals, which are in boxes. So the boxes are
stacked floor to ceiling in each closet. One of these days, I'll rent a
storage space and clear out some things but until then -"Watch out! don't
open that door!"

I hope to buy my first home in the next couple of years, and then just watch
me go -collecting that is.
