Wrong guess. Formatting a ProDOS floppy on the Mac works. I've just 
tried: formatting it as 720K MSDOS first, just in case. Then as ProDOS. 
Then take it to the GS and put the ProDOS boot file on it. Boot it.
Yes! It boots! It does not say: Unable to load ProDOS.
It just says: Unable to load START.GS.OS.

Oh, besides, the original question was how to make disks from disk 
images I thought disk images have the boot blocks built in!
