Re: GBBS Question



Another point is that the GBBS system was always more concerned with 
communicating with the serial port first and then the modem second.  It does 
bring back a memory that (though I have no way of verifying this at the 
moment) that GBBS would assume that after establishing the best way to 
communicate with the serial port that the serial port would know the best way 
to communicate with the modem on the other end.

One other thing (though this may have been mentioned earlier) is to make sure 
that you have all of your baud rates in sync with each other.  I wouldn't 
trust any type of "auto detect" baud rate when you are trying to talk via a 
Serial Connection and a Null Modem cable unless you have an absolutely correct 
modem cable with all pinouts done properly...
