Re: adb joystick on 2gs?
1) Joymouse is a driver for GS/OS for using the Joystick (or paddles,
touch screen, etc, anything that'll give you readings on PDL1 and PDL0)
in any Desktop program. It may have some problems with accelerated
systems, and even non-accelerated systems (sometimes you'll push all
the way down, and the cursor will move up)....The joystick port can
only give you 8 bit numbers (0-255), and the IIgs desktop is bigger
than that, so you get 'atari' type control, instead of analog. You
push the joystick down, and the cursor starts moving down. Let go of
the joystick and the cursor stays where it is.
2)On ground apple16/system/drivers there is an ADBJOYSTICK driver. I
don't have an ADB joystick so I cannot test it.
3)On ground misc/miscinfo (I think, I know it is somewher in the misc
section of ground)
There are a few articles about hooking up different devices to the
Apple II, including the POWERGLOVE to the internal game connector.
There aren't any "drivers", but there is a BASIC program to get data
from the glove. Theres also information about atari joysticks, PC
joysticks.
It is neat that Jeff B hooked up a 'handicaped' interface for his
father on the Apple II! Would you give us more details on that?
Jeff: Also, The ground article about the PowerGlove doesn't explain how
to get 'x-y-z' data from the glove (the author couldn't figure it
out)..Could you look in your VR playhouse book and give the information
about how to get all the available data from the Glove?
