Of course not. Mitch, as much as it might surprise you
to know, I don't care what people are buying or selling
the IIGS for or whether the peripherals hold more value
or the computer itself. It is just that you said you could
think of NO IIGS SETUP (SETUP=computer+peripherals)
that are worth $300+.

I don't care if the only time someone would sell that
system is before an atomic bomb blast, but the fact is such
systems exist

Yes indeed. I never said that was a typical IIGS system
that people would sell every day. Again, let me repeat:
it does not matter if such a system is not sold everyday.
Stop assuming that I think that it is. I do not.

You, however, said you could think of NO IIGS SETUP
that could be worth $300+. I gave you an example. I mean,
like I said I have an SVGA card and a gigabyte hard drive
and Joe Kohn has a laser printer, so the setup EXISTS.

That's all I'm saying. No more, no less. It is YOU who
are trying to make me into some kind of crazy lunatic
out on a crusade to brainwash the world. I'm NOT, I
repeat NOT doing anything like that. My purpose is to
only give you an EXAMPLE when you said you could
not think of one.

Well, hot dog Mitch, I agree with you there.

However, like I said some people add peripherals
like hard drives, software, modems, displays, and laser
printers to the SETUP. The computer may not be
worth that much, but the SETUP would be. And yes,
if and when a Windows PC or Macintosh is added, the
items are usable so obviously the person who adds
peripherals to an Apple II is not stupid.

It does not matter what you think is a "normal" setup.
You claimed you can think of NO setup worth $300+.
I gave you an example. However rare you think it is,
it exists. End of story.

I can't stand? Stop plugging words in my mouth. I
recommend people sell peripherals and even
software separately. However, the fact remains that
a system is computer+peripheral. The SETUP
would be sold as separate pieces, but the monetary
return to the seller is that of the full SETUP.

Ok, assuming you sell the peripherals for the system
I describe and throw in the IIGS for free. What is
a computer+peripherals? A SETUP. So even by
your definition, a $300+ IIGS SETUP exists.

That's all I'm saying. No more, no less. Just correcting
your claim that you can think of NO IIGS SETUP
that is worth $300+.

>What I'm

On the average, I agree.

I do not think, I repeat I DO NOT THINK that the
typical IIGS has such peripherals. I do, however,
KNOW that such SETUPS exist. I was just correcting
you.

Don't take it so hard, Mitch. Just admit that IIGS
SETUPS can be work $300+ however rare and we'll
drop this.

> Okay, a typical Apple IIgs system setup consists of the follwing:

Mitch, press the rewind button just a sec.

I DID NOT SAY I'M TALKING ABOUT A TYPICAL
IIGS SETUP, OK?

I'm just saying a IIGS SETUP worth $300+ CAN exist,
ok?

Is my last statement true? CAN A IIGS SETUP BE WORTH
$300+? I don't care if it is rare. I don't care if it is not the
typical setup being sold. Do SUCH SETUPS EXISTS?
The answer is yes.

Admit that and we can end this thread.

ps - If you admit this, it does not, I repeat, does not mean that
you think a bare bones IIGS is worth triple digits. I don't
think this, even if you seem to think I do. I, unlike you, can
make the distinction between a bare bones computer and
a decked out computer SETUP.
