Did you try the RamFAST SCSI utility? I've got this kind of problem with
800K disks mistakenly inserted in the floptical drive (the usual Finder
"Eject" dialog is not displayed). Formatting the disk to 720K solves the
problem. Maybe the drive sensor is damaged. Perhaps it is the disk itself
(unless you tried many disks and none of them was mounted). Forget the "f"
symbol stuff I read in a related post. Compare both HD and floptical disks:
the holes are positioned differently.
