Of course, being the lazy-ass that I am, I usually just use what I have
and don't use what I don't have.  I usually use a plain dry abrasive like
(rough) synthetic steel wool and scrub, scrub, scrub.  Of course, some
plastic is removed too.  I guess it'd be better to only do this with
smooth plastic.

Just my 2 cents... or whatever the present-day currency translation would
be...
