Your annual circulation is no excuse for your childish and hostile tactics in 
the past, present, and possibly the future.

As I stated before, the account I lost on earthlink.net was specifically 
created for the ploy that I pulled on nathan and yourself. Quite frankly, 
earthlink is a terrible ISP (unbelievably slow). Why would I have two ISP's at 
that point? Remember that my account at pacbell.net was still active at that 
time, and it still is. The bottom line is that the account that was shut down 
was *meant* to be shut down. I hold my head high and feel no shame. I did 
nothing wrong. Now your witch hunt with nathan was the laugh line of 1996. I 
remember this all too clearly.

No-one disputes the positive contributions to the apple II community that both 
you and nathan have provided. And we all respect the remaining apple II 
developers. Many of us appreciate all of this. However, your rants and hostile 
tactics towards those who don't fit your mold of the perfect apple II user 
shouldn't be tolerated. Your black-white view of the world poisons the 
remaining water table for the apple II community. Your war against turley, 
myself, asimov and the like are legendary. You are a half-witted troublemaker 
who sits behind the false mask of morality to mold the apple II community 
to your childish whims.

No, its people like me who feel that non-commercially available titles should 
be freely distributed. Copyright or not, I feel that if there is no-one being 
hurt, and no-one is losing money, then software should be free game. It is 
people like you that are always trying to tie this view up to a stake of 
morality. 

It is also people like you that would love to see the distribution rights 
reside in your own hands. Instead of letting things be, you all too often 
pursue the most feeble quest to have "package xyz" removed off of "site abc", 
even if you have no stake in the sale. The bottom line is that you provide a 
wonderful service to the apple II community. But as a person, you are an 
arrogant, self centered doof who doesn't deserve half the credit you receive.

Actually, I just purchased a couple of IIgs machines off the csa2.marketplace 
a week ago. I had an apple IIe from circa 1984 through 1989. I then purchased 
a IIgs, and kept it until ~1991 or so. Realizing (like most developers) that 
the IIgs wasn't going to feed me, I bought a PC and started developing 
software. Prior to my apple days, I started on a TRS-80 model III, and worked 
up to a C64/128. 

I first learned pascal on my Apple IIe. I also learned quite a bit of 
assembly, but I didn't get into C until my PC days. The C compilers for the 
IIgs were kind of cheesy back then. I am sure they improved greatly since 
then.

Today, I am the senior network administrator for an executive benefits 
consulting firm in los angeles,ca. However, this is short lived as I am 
resigning from my position in a week to join the ranks of our programming 
staff. My love is programming, not network administration. Since I have about 
6 years of *commercial* programming experience it would be a shame for it to 
go to waste.

I purchased the IIgs machines for these reasons:

	1 - Relive a little bit of my youth
	2 - Start developing some software for the IIgs. You see Joe,
	    I am not the monster that you think I am. I plan on developing
	    software too. But I am scared. I am afraid that all the pirates
	    are going to make me go away.
	3 - I still have a ton of software that I purchased, and half a book
	    case full of documentation that collects dust. Its a shame to let
	    it go to waste.
