For me, High-Speed Internet and Digital Voice were the same price as just the Internet alone.

My land-line is another thing I've been thinking of getting rid of. A cell phone can handle everything I'm doing with my land line. I just need to get in the habit of keeping my cell phone a bit more handy so I don't have to go wandering around the apartment to figure out where it is.

Unless you have a FAX, then that Land-Line is probably not worth keeping. I also have a cell phone, but, and I will probably be seriously berated for this, it is a Tracfone. I only use it when I am out and so that the family can reach me, or if something goes awry and then I can call for help. Of course if it's emergency service you need, then it's a pain, because it is necessary to know what State, County, and Township you are in, else they don't know who to send to you. Even with E911 on the Digital voice, they ask me what area I am in. That was never an issue with VONAGE, but that sucked bigtime. Is this thread off-topic yet? LMAO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Bill
