Ummm--I don't think so. The "little black nubby" is a rubber-covered
_ultrasonic_ transducer operating at 40KHz., and suitable for
transmitting
to an X-10 control console with an ultrasonic receiver (most of the old
"cubish box"-style 16-device consoles had ultrasonic receivers).
Since X-10 signals are carried by the power lines, an antenna of any
practical size would not be very useful.
