Wow. I was correct. Earlier I emailed that guy and told him it was an X-10
controller..When he said that there was no port (The new ones connect via
the rs232 style serial interface) I figured it was a direct interface that
sent out the RF signals and that the little black nubby was probably the end
of a coiled antenna
