On my Power Mac 7500, I had problems with 800K disks, but it only
manifested itself as the Mac telling me the disk was unreadable and wanted
to format it to 1.4 MB.  Yeah, I do know about HD disks formatted as 800K
being unreadable until the HD hole is covered, but these were real 800K
disks.  Ejecting and reinserting cleared it up, although sometimes I had
to do it twice.
