   Usually when I write music, if the notes are descending, I refer to 
the notes on a flat scale. If the notes are ascending, then I refer to 
them on a sharp scale. The values you place on sharp vs flat should be 
identical because they are one in the same notes and should not be 
separated. That, in my opinion, would confuse the program and probably, 
the user.
