I too have a real lust for Wizardry.  I have had no spontaneous problems
with the characters.  However, Wiz V is a bit more clever.  If you go
attacking some of the good and neutral players (Ironose, Mad Merlin, Duck
of Sparks) in and around the maze, your alignment can and will usually
take a dive towards evil.  You need these people anyway, so killing them
off is NOT a good idea in general.  

In fact, I think it even states that this will happen in the manual.  I've
got 2 copies of the game as it was easier than getting a replacement disk
C.  Sir-Tech still sells copies of the Apple II stuff, even though they
are no longer producing it.
