March-April 1995 GS+ Magazine is on the way!

Attention GS+ Magazine Subscribers:

The Latest Issue Of GS+ Magazine Is On The Way!

I'm happy to announce that as of 2/27/95, all copies of
the latest issue of GS+ Magazine V6.N4 (March-April 1995)
have been mailed and are on their way to you!

In this latest issue, you will find reviews of the latest
version of Contacts GS as well as a review of Vitesse's
new program, FAXination.

This issue's feature articles include a new installment
in our "Programming the IIGS" series, as well as Mr. Priceguide's
latest magnum opus, how to shop for a CD-ROM drive for use with
your IIGS.

In the "Programming the IIGS" article, you'll learn all about
the incredibly useful TaskMaster tool call! Not only does this
article tell you why and how to use TaskMaster in your IIGS
programs, it also gives you ALL of the Figures and Tables that
you need to use TaskMaster! (This can be handy if you don't have
access to all of the Toolbox Reference volumes or if you just want
a "one-stop" reference for using TaskMaster.)

In his article "Mr. Priceguide Discovers CD-ROM", Mr. Priceguide
tells you everything you ever wanted to know about CD-ROM technology,
and why you should (or shouldn't) get a CD-ROM drive for your IIGS.
And, as always, Mr. Priceguide gives you a listing of some of the
best CD-ROM drive bargains and who to call to get them!

As for programs, this issue has three of them, one brand new, and two
updates of classic GS+ Magazine favorites.

First up is a new desk accessory called Special Edition. Special
Edition is a utility that allows you maintain a list of folders that
contain edition files that were created by IIGS programs that support
Publish & Subscribe. (i.e. Quick Click Calc and several other
programs.) When one of the edition files in the list changes,
Special Edition alerts you to the fact. You can then run the
appropriate application and see exactly how the edition file has
changed.

Speaking of Publish & Subscribe, our next program is a new version
of one of our most popular programs ever: II Notes. (For those of
you that aren't familiar with II Notes, its a new desk accessory
note pad that lets you quickly and easily take notes right on your IIGS
desktop.) This new version of II Notes is a lot like the old one, except
it doesn't have ANY of the limitations of the first version. For
example, with the new II Notes, your notepad can have up to 64,000 pages
in it! And if that isn't cool enough, look at some of these other new
features:

-*- Note pages can be named!

-*- You can jump to a note page by name or number!

-*- You can search for text on a single note page or you can search for
text across all the pages in your notepad!

-*- You can specify the font, size, style and COLOR of any text in
  your notepad!

-*- Note pages can be printed! You can print either a single note page
or any range of note pages!

So, what does all this have to do with Publish & Subscribe? Well, the
new II Notes also allows you to publish a note page in an edition file,
or you can subscribe to an edition file (that has text information in it)
and it will show up as a new page in your II Notes notepad!

Finally, we've got a new version of our Finder Binder Finder extension.
Finder Binder is an extension that takes over when the Finder can't find
an application to launch for a document that you try to open. When you
have Finder Binder installed, instead of getting that annoying "An
application can't be found for this document" dialog, Finder Binder will
pop up and allow you to specify the application that you want to run for
the document! Best of all, you can establish a permanent link between
that document and the application, so you never again have to worry
about which application should open that document!

So, if you subscribe to GS+ Magazine, watch your mailbox
for this issue! If you don't subscribe to GS+ Magazine,
send me your e-mail address and I'll send you subscription
information!
