Which is why PT/Mac includes a Telnet driver and a TCP/IP stream driver. 
(allows you to set up a macro to finger someone, for example.)

This is true.  Unfortunately, v1.0, for all its features, misses out on 
two important features listed above - Applescript and the Comm Toolbox. 
Version 1.1 is slated to include both.  If I'd guess as to why Greg 
skipped Applescript support, I'd say he didn't want to do it until the 
internal macros and menu structure were solid for mapping purposes. Comm 
Toolbox, on the other hand sounds like it may soon be replaced by another 
approach from apple, so he didn't want to build his application around 
it.
