According to the latest MacWeek, the outcry from developers over the
upcoming obsolescence of the Comm Toolbox has prompted Apple to continue
to support it. Open Transport (the new technology) will be the new way
of doing things, but Comm Toolbox will continue to be supported.
Open Transport will eventually replace Comm Toolbox, MacTCP, and SLIP/PPP
add-ons, and so forth -- but probably not immediately.
