Hmmmm... I haven't had any problems with ShadowWrite version 1.3.3 but as I
recall there were significant problems with an earlier version. Do you have
version 1.3.3? I use ShadowWrite all the time as a quick tool to open, read
and edit text and AppleWorks files. It's one of the neatest things available
for the IIgs!

But as for "the best" NDA text editors: how about EGOed 2.0 from the GS+
people. I believe it is for sale from them as a stand-alone product, but if
you have a IIgs and you don't subscribe to GS+ Magazine-plus-disk you really
owe it to yourself to do so. Give 'em a call at 1-800-662-3634 for info on
EGOed and for info on subscribing to GS+ Magazine. (They have a smaller NDA
editor called "EGOed lite" which is available if you subscribe.)

(I have no connection to EGO Systems except as a very satisfied customer)
