z-link question

I'm using an apple //c and I just got a copy of z-link.  It is better 
than the other software I have so I set everything up to use.  However, 
for some reason, the arrow keys send other characters instead 
and this makes it nearly impossible to use.  I thought I'd edit the macros 
that the manual talks about but then I couldn't figure out how to do 
this.  If any body can help, please give me any advice at all.  You can
